FULL PSYCHO EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENTS

A full assessment includes a Cognitive (IQ) Assessment, Educational Assessment (Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Language) and an Emotional Assessment to provide comprehensive information regarding an individual's strengths and possible weaknesses. The full assessment requires an intake session, a full day or two half days of testing, a feedback session and a full comprehensive report. Assessments are vitally important when a child is experiencing any difficulties to provide as much information as possible. The results of the assessment help guide further interventions required and recommendations.

SCHOOL READINESS ASSESSMENTS

Being ready to progress into school is very important to a child's emotional and educational well being and encompasses a number of different areas. It is therefore advisable to have a school readiness assessment to ascertain a child's current abilities and readiness to progress into formal schooling. I currently offer two possible school readiness assessments.

The first is a quicker assessment which can be conducted in groups and is very popular for school assessments. It provides pertinent information specifically chosen to help provide information about a child's ability to cope with academic and emotional demands of Grade One. 

The second is a more comprehensive assessment of full IQ in conjunction with an emotional assessment. This provides more information and is a longer process as a result. It also provides all the information required to decide whether a child is ready to progress.

APTITUDE, SUBJECT CHOICE AND CAREER ASSESSMENTS

I also offer aptitude, career and subject choice assessment which all use a battery of specifically designed and selected tests to help provide guidance and detailed information. The results from different assessment batteries are used in conjunction with conversing with the individual as well as information regarding academic ability and interests.

STUDY SKILLS AND ACADEMIC COACHING

The ability to study according to one's own abilities and preferences is very important for school success. This course helps to develop appropriate and effective study skills to ensure optimum retention, recall and understanding of information.
